Question 4.
Question 4: Who would be the audience for your media product?
I have made an online survey that I have emailed to both male and females. The survey is completed anonymously. I have done this so that I can get an opinion from people who don't do media and can give me their honest opinion on my product. It also helps me to know if I have clearly used the codes and conventions of a music magazine to reach my targetted audience.

Following this survey, it is clear to me that it is obviously a pop magazine and that this has been done by making it look girly and keeping a clear colour scheme of high key colours. Those who done the survey have said that they think my target audience is for teenage girls which matches my aim.

Question 1.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Part 1... by LaurenMCarslake on GoAnimate
part 2... by LaurenMCarslake on GoAnimate
To sum it up, I have used lots of codes and conventions. For instance, high key colours which make the magazine look easy going and welcoming to read. The reader is engaged to the article by direct eye contact with the magazine and an easy to read interview which is laid out by questions and answers in separate colours which can make the reader feel like they are doing the interview. Each page is full of different fonts which look 'groovy' or 'funky' to make it look like a pop magazine and fit in with the target audience.

Feedback from my class.
In my class, we had a feedback lesson where we put our front cover, contents page and double page spread of our products.
The feedback I got was positive which states that my codes and conventions are typical for a pop magazine as I appeared to have a clear understanding of pop magazines.
I also got that people in my class think that my magazine is for young girls and for the pop genre which is good because that was my aim.
As well as that, they said that there is a clear development of my technical skills because there are different fonts, shapes and textures. It also says that it is laid out clearly and has a good use of colours.

In the process of making my music magazine.
Today, I have started to write my article using my double page spread draft from my planning. I have put the question in pink because it matches my colour scheme. It is a typical convention of music magazines in the pop genre to have the question and answers in different colours to show the difference.

In the process of making my music magazine.
Since last time, I have added in page numbers and text for one of the sections. The titles that I have used are typical conventions in Top of the Pops magazines which are from the same genre as my product.
Next time, I am going to add text next to every page number and add in pictures that link to featured articles within my product.

In the process of making my music magazine.
I have continued to make my music magazines front cover. I have finished it by putting in cover stories and using different fonts and various shades of pinks and purples as per my colour scheme. As well as this, I have also added in shapes from photoshop that display what the magazine has to offer to the reader. I have done this because I identified these as typical conventions of 'Top of the Pops' magazine, which is the same genre as my product.
I have also started creating my contents page by putting in shapes that I will develop next time with text. The main title is a hot pink with white writing saying 'Inside your mag!' The other shapes are a shade of pink like the rest of my magazine with black titles above each square. Thus going along with my chosen colour scheme for my product and appealing to my target audience.
